Light Over The Trees

The picture shown here is taken with a iPhone 4, early one morning.  It was more of an opportunity shot rather than a deliberate one.  All my opportunity shots are taken with iPhones; don't like carrying a DSLR around. :P
Light Over The Trees
I really do enjoy taking such pictures.  Look up and about for good shots.

Finally just a quote to give you that extra ooomph for today!
"Do more than belong: participate. Do more than care: help. Do more than believe: practice. Do more than be fair: be kind. Do more than forgive: forget. Do more than dream: work." – William Arthur Ward

Sunrise at East Coast

On New Year's Eve; the last day of the year, I had the opportunity to go East Coast beach with the most important person in my life.   A nice seaside, great weather, wonderful company.  There I took this shot with my iPhone.  Really, in life the most important thing is not what the world or society emphasizes.  Now that Christmas and New Year's gone, if you have not spent time with your family, do it now...

Terroir Arts wishes everyone a very wonderful 2011.

Lights in the Day Sky

Today we have a photo taken with a iPhone 4 of a traffic light from a nice perspective.  The contrast and color seems pretty good for the iPhone 4.  Who says you can't take good photos with a handphone?

Lights in the Day Sky
I guess the best way to hone your chops is to keep an open eye, an open mind, and keep looking for shots.

A Bird In Hand, Is Worth Two In The Bush...

A Bird In Hand?
Today we have a picture taken outside Starbucks, Liat Towers with a iPhone 4.  It's just one of those moments where you try to capture something interesting.  These two pigeons were just sitting in the grass, enjoying the sun.

Building a Cloudless Sky

Building a Cloudless Sky
This photo was taken by my iPhone 4, without any enhancements.  It was shot at Beauty World and Beauty World Plaza, at about 9AM.  The white speck which you see in the sky is actually the moon.  I especially like the colour gradient of the sky and the contrast of the circular window on the right.  I must admit that on closer scrutiny, specks of dust has affected the quality of the photo.

Inside a Breakwater - East Coast (Singapore)

Inside a Breakwater - Oyster Shells and Seaweeds
I found a crevice in one of the Breakwaters near East Coast Seafood Centre.  Usually the beaches of Singapore are immensely boring because of the lack of bio-diversity.  This crevice is a stark contrast to what you find on the sands.  Look out for surprises in the midst of monotony.

This photo is taken with Apple iPhone 4, with flash.  It is not edited in anyway.

Yamaha CG201S: Close Ups

This is my trusty CG201S that is always on a guitar stand within my reach.  It is a very decent guitar in my opinion; good enough for everyday playing, yet cheap enough that I won't be burdened to have to "baby" it.  Bone nut and saddle setup by Malcolm Tan.

Specifications:

  • Solid European Spruce
  • Solid Mahogany
  • Ebony Fingerboard
  • Rosewood Bridge
  • 52mm Nut
  • 650mm Scale Length

CG201S - Bindings

CG201S - Headstock

CG201S - Rosette

National Museum of Singapore

Of all the photos I took at the National Museum, these two stood out over the others.  The symmetry and contrast stands testament to the artistry of the builders.
